Government plans for Compulsory Mediation

The Government has announced their plan for making Mediation compulsory for claims* with a value up to £10,000 (essentially the Small Claims Court threshold).

It sets out how an hour-long telephone Mediation will be set up by the Court prior to the claim progressing to a hearing.

The Notice published by the Government sets out a 10 week consultation period (from 26 July 2022) with the response to be published in due course.
